People Magazine – Taye Diggs Lysol Germzone
Taye Diggs is mindful when it comes to free time with his son.
Speaking with PEOPLE about his partnership with Lysol Air Sanitizer, the actor and dad opened up about enjoying the time he gets with his busy teenage son, 15-year-old son Walker, whom he shares with ex Idina Menzel.
“I try not to show him how excited I am just when he says three words to me, but it can be difficult,” the proud dad jokes.
“It’s very humbling because I feel like a 12-year-old girl that’s out with a senior boy. Anything I say could ruin the date,” he laughs. “I’m so tentative.”
“It’s a trip. I’m an adult and I’m hanging on every word of this 15-year-old. It’s fun. It’s really, really fun and eye-opening.”
On Saturday, Oct. 26, Diggs visited The Germ Zone experience in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in Champions Lane. The event, held at the Crimson Tide’s pregame fan fest area, located outside the northwest gates of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, featured The Germ Booth.
There, fans sang their team’s fight song loud and proud, as VR technology depicted the virus and bacteria droplets that are expelled into the air around them, and how Lysol helps kill them and keep sports fans safe. The experience was “very exciting” for Diggs, who considers prioritizing his health part of prioritizing his family life.
“I’m a father and I’m getting older and my health is something that is very important to me. So this partnership kind of makes sense because it just is easy,” he says.
“When I’m worried about germs and catching colds and keeping my son healthy, eating my vitamins and doing my exercise, it’s easy to just take Lysol air sanitizer and clear the room.”
The easy method of sanitizing provides the actor with “peace of mind.”
“I know that I’m getting rid of a lot of bacteria, like 99.9% of viruses and bacteria, they take them away. And it sounds silly to talk about, but that stuff matters. I’m old enough now to see what happens when we’re not careful. And at my age, I like to live every day to be at most, when I’m stuck with a cold, nobody wins.”
This college football season, fans can enter to receive their own Germ Zone Essentials Pack by commenting with the hashtag #LysolGermZoneSweeps on content posted by @Lysol on Instagram.
