TwitterFacebook

Volkswagen of America has introduced an engaging AR fan experience designed to highlight the innovative new ID.4 electric vehicle. This initiative is part of their presenting partnership with U.S. Soccer for the current season, offering fans a unique opportunity to explore and learn about the ID.4.

At U.S. Soccer events, attendees can not only admire the sleek design and advanced technology of the ID.4 but also participate in a cutting-edge WebAR experience. This interactive feature allows fans to visualize and interact with the vehicle in a whole new way, enhancing their overall experience and connection with the brand. Through this collaboration, Volkswagen aims to inspire and engage soccer enthusiasts while showcasing their commitment to sustainable and innovative transportation.

WebAR experience
Just point your phone at the new custom-wrapped ID.4 electric vehicle to bring the animated U.S. Soccer & Volkswagen AR experience to life. STN Digital and Gilt Edge Soccer Marketing brought on Groove Jones to bring the images to life in an innovative and touch-less way. The animation depicts various U.S. Soccer athletes as they hone in to score a goal or celebrate a play that paid off.

The vehicle also includes CHAMP, a VW custom telepresence robot, that provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to kids who aren’t able to attend matches in person. The custom robot was developed to expand the reach, visibility, and impact of U.S. Soccer’s existing player honoree program, where eleven children, sourced by Volkswagen, have an opportunity to walk out onto the field with Women’s and Men’s National Team players during the playing of the National Anthem.

A Touchless Fan Experience Using WebAR – No App Needed

Fans can walk up and scan the QRCode on the ID.4 which launches the experience and allows fans to engage by scanning the vehicle wrap. You can check out the mobile tour at various U.S. Soccer events throughout the year.
