XR Avatar Station AR Camera Experience for AT&T’s NBA All-Star Game Activation
AT&T and Wasserman hired Groove Jones to bring the XR Avatar Station to Chicago for the 2020 NBA All-Star Game. AT&T is providing 5G connectivity at United Center making 2020 the first 5G powered NBA All–Star Game.
Fans inside the United Center with 5G-enabled devices will be able to connect to AT&T’s 5G network inside the arena. AT&T will also host 5G-powered virtual experiences for fans at Chicago locations such as Navy Pier and AT&T’s flagship Michigan Avenue store.
The activations will include a virtual multi-player 3-point competition and Groove Jones provided the XR Avatar Station that allowed users to create a video of 3D images of themselves virtually dunking over iconic Chicago landmarks.

Step In and Get Scanned – No Touch Fan Engagement
Groove Jones was there with our XR Avatar Station, a volumetric camera system branded as the AT&T Scene Machine. Basketball fans had the chance to step inside, be volumetrically scanned, and then have themselves integrated into a one of a kind video basketball-themed video that they could keep or share on their favorite social platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Snap.
