Be Pro Be Proud, an initiative by the Associated Industries of Arkansas to help students launch careers in high-demand technical professions has announced its expansion into Alabama in collaboration with the Alabama State Department of Education.

“Be Pro Be Proud Alabama is igniting a generation of professionals who are not only excited to join the workforce but passionate about the work they do,” said Randy Zook, president and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas. “As we continue to foster this new relationship with Alabama, we look forward to helping propel its students forward for many years to come.”

Beginning in 2025, Be Pro Be Proud Alabama will mobilize a touring workshop across middle and high schools in the state, offering virtual and immersive augmented reality technical career simulators in industry sectors such as agriculture, construction, manufacturing, transportation and utilities to students in eighth grade and above.

“As Alabama’s job market continues to evolve, the need for skilled workers across the state has become more pertinent than ever,” said Alabama State Superintendent of Education Dr. Eric Mackey. “Be Pro Be Proud Alabama will meet students where they’re at, bridging the gap not only by connecting seniors with jobs, but by allowing younger students to explore potential career paths as well. We’re eager to see how this partnership will help turn the tide.”

Be Pro Be Proud’s expansion into Alabama comes as the state’s demand for highly-skilled employees reaches its peak. The program will help expand the state’s economic growth, technological advancement and national competitiveness, bringing opportunities that are reflective of local workforce needs.

Alabama is the seventh state to join the Be Pro Be Proud National Network, with operations also in Arkansas, Georgia, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
