Kaiser Permanente took innovation to the next level during Super Bowl 50 by incorporating virtual reality into its activation. As the official medical team for the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, they showcased their commitment to cutting-edge technology and community health by creating an immersive VR experience. Fans entered a life-sized football helmet, stepping into an engaging 360-degree virtual reality story.
The VR content focused on health, wellness, and the importance of staying active—key pillars of Kaiser Permanente’s mission. This activation entertained and inspired attendees to prioritize their well-being, making it a memorable highlight of the event. The Kaiser Permanente medical team includes 24 emergency and sports medicine physicians and 10 licensed vocational nurses.
Groove Jones was hired to create the VR experience for their Super Bowl activation at the Super Bowl City event, which ran for nine days. Then, he got to see an athlete’s life as he took part in his journey— game.

Kaiser Permanente showcased its role at the nine-day event along the San Francisco waterfront created for the Super Bowl 50 event and the day of the Super Bowl.
Participants could share the experience and a photo of themselves in the headset with the help of brand ambassadors.
